Depending where you are looking, Old Oakville has more in common with 16th to 18th
Century British colonial settlements around the world than it does with its neighbouring
communities. You may find enough things similar with Niagara-On-The-Lake, Charleston,
South Carolina, or Bermuda, if you of course you conveniently ignore the winter
elements. But don’t ignore winter too much, for it brings out the best in Old Oakville,
making the flower filled streets of summer a tough choice as to which is a better
time of year.
